Turn Your AR-15 Into The Mouse That Roars!

The 6mmAR - More Power!

The 6mmAR (center) is bigger, and has more
case capacity than both the 6 PPC and the
   223 Remington.  The 6mmAR is a perfect
6mm for Highpower Rifle Competition and other
types of shooting from an AR-15.  The 6mmAR
cartridge shown is loaded magazine length with
   a Berger 105 gr. BT bullet that has a b.c. of .527.
Other good bullets include the Berger 90 gr BT
bullet, the Berger 108 gr bullet (.546 b.c.),
the Hornady 87 gr. BTHP bullet, the  Berger
105 gr.  VLD bullet (single load only), and
   many others.

For Highpower Rifle Competition & General Shooting:

The 6mmAR is new 6mm cartridge designed to function and shoot out of an AR-15.  The cartridge was designed primarily to shoot high B.C. 6mm match bullets for "across the course" highpower rifle competition at 200, 300 and 600 yards, although it has many other applications.  The chambering for the cartridge was designed primarily to shoot 6mm bullets at high velocities, and to provide significant ballistics and wind drift advantages over the standard AR-15 .223 chambering.  Typically, for highpower rifle competition at the 600 yard line, the heavy 105 to 108 gr. match bullets (without moly or any special loading techniques) shoot well in the range of 2750 - 2800 fps from a 26" barreled upper and provide much better downrange bullet performance than the comparable 223 long line bullets.  Some shooters have reported that wih careful load development they are able to run the 105 to 108 gr bullets in the 2800 - 2850 fps range.  For the "short lines", bullets in the range of 85 - 108 gr can also be used and loaded at magazine length, and also provide an advantage over the .223.

For Varmint Shooting:

The 6mmAR, when loaded with a 6mm Hornady 75 gr. V-Max bullet, provides a devastating varmint round that can drive the 75 gr. V-Max bullet at 3100+ fps from a 24" barreled upper.

The New 6mmAR Turbo 40°Improved Cartridge

Since the creation of the original 6mmAR cartridge described above, some "improved" versions of the cartridge have been made and perfected.  The latest is called the 6mmAR Turbo 40° Improved.  It has extra capacity and the 40 degree shoulder of Ackley type cases.  Click Here to find out more about this new cartridge.

The 20 Practical Varmint Cartridge

The 20 Practical cartridge is a .223 necked down to 20 Cal.  It feeds and functions 100% out of an AR-15, and is an excellent varmint cartridge - almost no recoil, very high accurate velocities and explosive bullet performance. Click Here to find out more about the 20 Practical.

The .224 AR Cartridge

The .224 AR is similar to the 6mm AR, except that it is set up to shoot the widely available .224 diameter bullets.  The cartridge has a water capacity of 36 gr. which is about 6.5 gr more capacity than a .223 Rem.  The .224 AR also has a case length that makes it ideal for shooting the larger .224 bullets (75 - 90 gr) loaded at magazine length.  Die sets are readily available and brass is available and easy to make (i.e. run it through re-size dies, load it and shoot it)!  Simple, easy, accurate and effective!

The 6mmAR offers exceptional accuracy out of an AR-15 platform. Shown is a perfect 100/10x MR-31 highpower competition target shot with an AR-15 chambered in the 6mmAR. In truth, since the 6mmAR is a larger and longer sibling of the 6mm PPC, its inherent accuracy as a cartridge should be no surprise. This group was shot slow prone with a sling at 100 yards.
